The BB is one of the services provided by BWNVVA, but registration on the BB does NOT constitute membership in the Association. That is a separate action. (See Membership Information)
Steps for obtaining a BB account:
Review of board access applications relies heavily on checking the user name and the IP address of the user and/or the web link that you provide. If you have not heard back on a request for board access within 8 hours, please contact The Management Team .
The BWNVVA BB contains several subject areas, called Forums. This allows the user to be more specific in posting or reading information on the several subject areas.
One Forum has an added feature - the capability of all posts and replies to be delivered via email to every BB user who has not turned OFF this email delivery function. By default, the email options in ON. An email copy of the post to that forum is automatically sent to the email address which users provide upon user registration.
PLEASE NOTE: The email function (called M2F) is ON by default. This feature may cause an unwanted flow of email. The feature can easily be turned OFF by the user, and toggled back ON and OFF at any time.
Our auto-email system is set up to include each member as they register. If you DO NOT WANT the added email notification of posts, you can easily disable that function. Please READ THIS.
There are 2 ways of receiving information on this BB. You can post directly to the board and read responses directly on the board. This is how every forum EXCEPT the Blue Water Navy Issues works.
In addition to reading and posting to the board, you can receive emails and respond to emails that are actual board postings to the Blue Water Navy Issues Forum only. This feature is currently only activated for the Blue Water Navy Issues. This means that, in addition to posting to the board in that forum, you and all other users will ALSO get an email of that post identical to what is on the board. You can respond to that email by replying to the email, and your answer will be posted to the board. Likewise, your response will also be sent as email to everybody else in that forum.
That feature of email notification can be TURNED OFF. Once it is turned off, you can still read all the posts and replies directly on the BB when you log in. You won't miss anything; you simply have to do something different to get access to each post and reply - which is, log onto the board and read Posts and Replies in the Blue Water Issues Forum.
To activate or deactivate the email delivery function, click on FORUM SUBSCRIPTIONS at the top of your screen and subscribe or unsubscribe. All new members are currently enrolled with this function turned ON. It is the DEFAULT SETTING. If you do not want to receive any emails of the posts, go to FORUM SUBSCRIPTIONS at the top of your login page and unsubscribe. You may activate (or deactivate) this feature at your own convenience.

PLEASE put your NAME in the Signature Block on the user profile page. You can put in other witty sayings, but PLEASE include at least your name.
