My husband passed in 2003 from kidney cancer and he also had type II diabetes. There is so much I don't know and wish I could ask him. His service was never discussed. He was aboard the Uss Stribling in 69 and I was begining to believe no one on the ship was left but I finally made contact with a mate who dosen't think it was possible for the "boots on the ground". The only thing I can see that might work in my favor is his mate said they went into Da Nang Harbor. Now I have to drill him to see if they docked or anchored. I have read how to get the ships logs but I must admit I am very confused! Bless you guys and I love to hear your stories!
He has a brother in Florida whos feet are about to fall off from type II diabetes who was stationed on the USS Rosevelt and for the life of me I can't get him to join the forum. He just got a reply from his claim they need more evidence of some sort ... so much for the haas stay
